Cayden's Birthday! (Yes...I know there are more than two candles. We're kinda weird like that!!)

Who needs to go out and spend money for entertainment when you can simply do flips onto the bed!!! The kids did flips/stuff too, but I decided to share our contribution to the Family Fun! Ha!! David and I were sick to our stomachs just from doing a few...must mean we're getting old.

These pictures are pretty much in a very random order....but at least I'm somewhat catching up things. I'm trying very hard to document our lives, and really wish I could figure out how to order a blog album. I know (or have heard) there's a way to transfer posts and pictures to a book you can order, but I have no clue how to do that. Gotta research and try to order at least Conner's first year asap. I'll eventually collect all of them. How cool will that be?? It'll be like family yearbook albums. We'll see...it could be a rumor that such a thing even exists. Which would make me sad...:(

This past weekend we had a BRIDAL shower at the house for my NOT-SO Baby sister, Rachel!!! She's getting married on November 11th, and we are ALL in the wedding, so there will be much to share next month. I'm so proud of her and the woman she's become....she's truly beautiful inside and out, and I know God has big plans for her and Jonathan!! He's gonna be my brother!!!...and the kids' first uncle! WE LOVE HIM!

Sarah Kate still has blue eyes, but when I took out the red eye, it made them dark brown. Go figure...I have no clue how we have three blue eyed children, but so far their eyes haven't changed. Cayden's are more hazel, but Conner's are still blue as can be. There's still time for SK's to do something different...

A few weeks ago David and I went on a date to see Courageous...GREAT movie! We also just recently had a FAMILY trip to the movies...yep, all FIVE of us. We saw The Lion King!! We had a blast...I did take a few pictures, but forgot to load them on here.

It's VERY hard to believe that Miss Sarah Kate will be EIGHT weeks tomorrow!!!!!! Good grief.

Cayden is TWO!!!! :)

It's hard to believe that Cayden is now TWO years old!!! To say that these past two years have flown by is an understatement. Yesterday, October 12th, was his actual birthday, and I found myself reflecting on what our lives were like two years ago as we brought "Little Man" home and as Conner became a "big" brother for the first time. Precious, precious memories. Cayden from the very beginning added so much joy to our family, and he continues to be such a joyful little dude with his bubbly, animated personality and cheerful spirit!! Being at home with him these last four months has proven to be the greatest gift. In the past I would always refer to Cayden as a "Daddy's Boy"...however it's been made clear that this was mostly due to the fact that he never really saw his momma considering I had to be up at work at 6:45 in the morning and unfortunately wouldn't leave until 4 or 5 most days of the week. David would drop him off at daycare and even pick him up a few days a week, so it's a wonder he even knew me at all. Proudly, I can say he and I have really made up for lost time and have formed a very deep bond...yep, he loves me!! Ha! David's joked that I've replaced him, but that's hogwash. Cayden still idolizes his DADDY, but he is definitely a momma's boy as well! Cayden has grown up SO much these last few months....in fact where before I was a little apprehensive about his language development, I'm now 100% confident we are right on track. He's a very talkative, smart, full of life TWO year old!!!
A few updates:

• Cayden is still doing well sharing a room with Conner. They each have certain things they like to cuddle up with at night and at nap time. Cayden loves his monkey pillow pet, "nake" (snake), and blanket.


• He still LOVES books and will actually listen to a story (as long as it's not too long)


• LOVES to watch movies and tv for a few minutes at least....ha!! He loves these "car" movies from Family Bookstore that my mom got for the boys. They're called "Auto-B-Good", and they have all kinds of character building stories with correlating music videos. They are GREAT!!!! Cayden will also watch SuperWhy and other PBS shows while brother is at school. He's of course more prone to actually sit and watch for longer periods of time without Conner around.


• Food and Drink are still near and dear to him...HA!


• Favorite Foods: EVERYTHING...I began listing and backspaced all the way realizing it was pretty much pointless. He LOVES everything with the exception of FRUIT..sometimes we can get him to eat it, but even when he does, it's not a favorite!! I guess it's the texture, but he's not too fond of it at this point in time. A few quirks...he's a dipper just like the rest of us, and he likes to eat the middles of everything first (sandwiches/stuffed crackers or oreos). He also eats the tops of pizza slices first too. (I do too.)


• As for drink....he's getting better and better at drinking from a regular cup. Still using the sippy cup, but he should transition easily. It may help decrease the amount of liquid that he takes in which would be good since...


• Potty training is around the corner!!!! He's actually had interest about it for quite some time and just recently had gone to tee-tee in the potty TWO times!!! He's soooo proud of himself! I'm not ready to start the journey still because I have a fear consistency (on my part) won't happen, but we'll see. Maybe he will be as easy as Conner was to train. (Well, with the exception of going #2) Hee.


• He's talking up a storm...funny how that just kinda happened over night. He's still expressing one to three word fragments but can definitely get his point across. "Caydenese" is slowly but surely being replaced with ENGLISH, but there are still times I'm like what the heck are you trying to tell me!!! The other day he cracked me up. I was cleaning the top shelf of the boys' closet and came across a singing Christmas stuffed animal. It's low on batteries, so it was hit or miss if the thing actually finished the song. Well, all the sudden I heard Cayden saying in a very stern tone..."Work doggy, work!!" He also loves to ask where things/people are, but his (where) is "air"...so he'll say "Air Daddy?" "Air cup?" Another new favorite phrase is MINE! and LUVS YOU!!


• He gives Sarah Kate (Arah Kay) about oh let's see...100 kisses and hugs a day!! He will run up to her and say..."hug??" "Kiss??" Sometimes I lose my patience (Since I have to protect SK and monitor the hug/kiss), but I try to focus on the fact that he at least he wants to give her lovin and that he may not always feel that way.


• COLORS: Favorite colors are blue and purple. He can identify blue, purple, red, yellow, green, pink, black (He hasn't quite gotten orange or brown...haven't really focused on white either.) All this was done with his cars, and now he loves noticing color everywhere. We were at the grocery store and he was shouting all the color he saw.


• COUNTING: He wants to soooo bad. He'll line up his cars, point to them and say "two, two, two, two" Hahahaha!!! Part of me doesn't want to even fix it! It's cute stuff.


• If you ask him how old he is, he'll say....yep. "Twooooooo" Maybe 2 is his favorite number!


• HE'S A HAM!!!! That is all.


• Loves puzzles and playing with his animals...also loves batman and playing dress up in his superhero costumes.


• Accident prone!! I have no clue how he bumps into the most random things, and he trips literally over his own two feet several times a day.


• He's tough stuff: Example #1- He handles the accident prone incidents like a champ...never missing a beat. Example #2- He can take his big brother and probably will be on a football field one day...yikes. Example #3-TWICE he's been attacked by fire ants, and the boy just shook them off like it was nothing when in all actuality he'd been bitten about TEN times!! Now that's scary. Example #4- He'll do something where a spankin' is necessary, but after David or myself follow through, he will just look at us with this mischievous smile, turning on his charming personality full blast! (We have a hard time not laughing ourselves.) SOOOO we've got our hands full to say the very least.


• Loves music/dancing/singing


• Cayden loves to get in the car and RIDE. Just recently he's wanted me to roll down the window. I guess he's getting it from car rider line at Conner's school.


• Loves Conner and still copies each and every step his big bubba takes....however they fight just as much too. Ahhhhh, siblings.

One of his gifts was a sleeping bag....and as you can see Conner reaped the benefits as well. David's planning on taking the boys camping in a friend's backyard soon which should be an interesting adventure. Us girls are gonna stay at home in our comfy beds. :)

We will go to the doctor on the 25th of this month for his 2 year check-up. It's a DOUBLE appointment!! We're also gonna take SK for her 2 month check-up that day. They let us schedule them both at the same time...saves me a trip to the doctor, so it works for me. I've already recruited David to come along since both kids will be checked out and will have shots! I'll need support for sure!!
