WE'RE BACK!!

I caught up with lots of posts from our Christmas vacation with the family!

Also, I wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! The Lord has many wonderful blessings in store for the Crenshaw's throughout the year 2008.....and the same goes for all of you!!!8)

I missed blogging...it's good to be back!

Conner's First CHRISTmas!!!

We had a great time spending Christmas with our family!! We enjoyed playing games, watching movies, EATING, and just simply being with everyone! It feels as though we were gone for so long....yet, for us, it went by sooo fast!! Thank you so much for all of Conner's Christmas gifts. We will enjoy all of the wonderful toys, books, clothes, and yes, even the diapers!!! ;)

Traveling for Christmas....Conner's sweater says, "Are we there yet?" I actually got this at Old Navy before he was born knowing that we would be on the road for the holidays!! I love this picture!

At one point, we had stopped in two different places in search of a changing table. No such luck, so we used David's passenger seat. Too funny! Thankfully, the weather wasn't too cold for his little bottom. 8) Also, speaking of weather, we did not travel through ONE SINGLE drop of rain!! Thank you, LORD!!

David drew this picture of Conner for his mom for Christmas. How good is he?:) I mean, at times, I feel as though I have a tidbit of creativity when it comes to doodling/painting, but come on, David has got some SERIOUS talent!! (Thankfully, he's in the family cause I'm gonna put that to good use!)

This is a picture he drew of me before we got married. It was displayed on our wedding cake table. It has the verse in Proverbs about a wife of noble character who can find...she is worth far more than rubies. It melts my heart even when I look at it today.

Christmas at Grandma & Grandpa's in Virginia!

We got to use our new "travel friendly" duck tub....and Conner LOVES it!! (Thank you, Kara for the idea) We will continue using it at home. David's parents gave us some new bath toys and they've already made bath time even more fun!!;)

Brandy and Baby Devin

David's sister, Brandy, is expecting a son in March/April, but he is already a VERY special member of the family. Next year, Conner and Devin will get to open or really play with the presents together. We love you, Brandy and are praying for you and Devin!!!;)

Christmas at Nonna & Pop's in North Carolina!

Although this is a terrible picture of me (David was supposed to leave me out of it), I just had to post this special moment. Conner was able to hear Poppy play the piano at church. I've grown up seeing and hearing my Daddy play...I miss that so much!! The Lord has truly gifted him, and many people are blessed each time he plays! It means so much to me that we had the opportunity to be there!!;) I love you, Daddy!

I have been on a mission for some new Christmas stockings and wanted to get them after Christmas for a good price!$$;)

Finally, I found exactly what I was looking for in North Carolina at this Christmas store called the The Peppermint something?!.

The one to the left is Davids, then mine, and last but not least, Conner's. We're going to get his monogrammed.

*The best part is that I got extra ones just like his for future children that we'll monogram as well!!* The kids' stockings are bigger so that Santa has PLENTY of room. 8)

I love the fact that they're not too "matchy matchy" but are still in the same color family. Mine sparkles....if you click on the picture, you may be able to see some of the details. I'm sooooo proud of them!

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR! We leave for North Carolina and Virginia on Friday, and there is still SOOOO much to do before then. I shouldn't really even be on the computer right now!! Today has been such a busy day filled with little unexpected errands like renewing my driver's licence (SIX months overdue!!) on top of all the normal preparations for going out of town....pack, clean, finish Christmas stuff, etc.! So, since things are so busy around here, I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I pray that the Lord uses this time with your family & friends to bring you all together as you reflect on the true REASON for the SEASON....Jesus Christ! 8) Be careful as you travel...I tend to get a little (David would probably substitute another word right there) nervous when we travel, so I pray that the Lord keeps all of us safe as we drive/fly to see our families. There will be lots to share after the holidays with this being Conner's first Christmas....maybe I can get on a computer at my parents' house and blog, but if not, check back with us sometime around the first of January. I love you all!!

Christmas at Granny's & Mammaw's...

Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures from Granny's cause I accidentally left the camera card at the house. We took three pictures on an extra memory card that I happened to have in my purse, but I have no clue where it is at the present time!8) Oh well, if I end up finding it, I'll post them. We had a great time at Granny's and Mammaw's with all the family. Conner loved looking and playing with all the bows & wrapping paper. Thank you everyone for the cute clothes and new toys...we are already enjoying them! Conner is using his Christmas money for diapers & food...what a smart, responsible kid!!;)

Date Night...;)

After Christmas at Mammaw's, I went to a wedding. David surprised me by picking me up at the reception. He had dropped Conner off at Sarah & Andrew's and then took me to Macaroni Grill (my FAVORITE restaurant). During dinner, he gave me my ticket to A Christmas Dream by Kathy Thibodeaux with Ballet Magnificat! We had so much fun just spending time together. As I was watching the ballet, I caught myself thinking how nice it was not having to worry about Conner, but on the way to pick him up, I was so anxious/excited to get to see him!8) David and I are going to try to have date night AT LEAST once a month...just the two of us!;)

Forrest and Kristin....Next time we're gonna get to spend lots of time together!! I enjoyed seeing y'all this weekend even though our visit was short. We love and miss y'all sooooo much!!

Teething, but still no TOOTH!

We have been teething (or have had signs of teething) for months now, but we're all still waiting for a tooth to pop up! I think that we'll see one in the very near future...

This is a teether that vibrates. Conner has finally figured out how it works, and he likes it!:)

While I'm on the teething subject: We haven't had any fever or fussiness, but Conner has had a cold that (in my opinion) is partly due to teething along with, of course, the ever so lovely changes in Mississippi weather!

Also, Conner woke up on the dot at midnight the past two nights. Last night he recovered pretty quickly on his own and went back to sleep until 7:30AM...hopefully our restful nights will not be interrupted. Any advice would be wonderful!;)

I realize this is all in good fun and that there's not much (OR any) value in the results, BUT I did however think it turned out just PERFECT...Conner is such a good blend of David and I!!!

Oh how special Christmas will be this year....

I didn't put up our big tree this year since we will be out of town for about ten days during the Christmas season. We (or I) would have to just come home and take down all the decorations....which would stink...for me!8) Love you David! Anyway, that's why I took it easy this year. I love this picture of Conner looking at the ornaments. If you click on the picture, you may be able to see the sweet snowman ornament from last year that says, "expecting". Now Conner is with us....oh how special Christmas will be this year!!!!



We put the pack-n-play in the den to get Conner used to playing in a confined area for those times when I need to get things done....before long, he will be all over the place!!! Yikes!

This was taken on our way to Crossgates Christmas; Enjoy the Gift...I'm so glad my mom was able to see it. (Not to mention she was able to watch Conner while I was up at the church for so many hours)

Conner is such a handsome little man, and he looked ADORABLE in the Christmas outfit that our friends, The Polk Family, let us borrow. Thank y'all so much!

Some other new stuff...

This morning we had to take Nonna back to the airport! 8( After we dropped her off, I had to get a few things from the grocery store. This was a great time to try out our shop-n-play thing...carrying him around in his carrier is just not happening for me anymore. I've never been very strong, so I'm surprised I've lasted this long. He seemed to be more protected and comfortable in his carrier. I'm finding it kind of hard/strange transitioning into the new little routines and procedures along the way, but eventually, I'll get used to it....then it will be time to change all over again!8) As for Conner, he LOVED the new change for our grocery store trips. You could tell he felt like a big boy and enjoyed looking at all the things and people. It was so funny...he spotted a lady and tried to get her attention by saying with much excitement and persistence, "Aaahhh, aahh!!" while looking back until she was out of his sight. Poor thing, the lady wouldn't pay any attention to him!! He got shot down!

If you look at the picture up close, you can see Conner's poor little eyes/rosy cheeks...we've been battling a nasty little cold the past few days.

This morning I moved the swing out of the living room (seeing that Conner doesn't use it anymore) so we have lots of additional floor space for play time. Conner enjoys to swing at nursery but NOT at home. I am also beginning to go through all of his old (cannot believe I'm using that word) toys and clothes to pack away and so that David's sister can use some of them for Baby Devin. Hopefully we can get all that organized and take it up to Virginia for Christmas. Man....time is sure going by FAST!! Conner will be EIGHT months on Christmas Day!!!!

Another thing that's on my heart...speaking of time going by fast reminds me that it's almost time to take that pregnancy leave at my old school. Today I started crying about it and feeling just plain scared!! Everything in me wants to turn back from this whole thing and get out of it! I would never do that though....they are counting on me, and I truly believe this is a wonderful opportunity to see how our family handles me going back to work. It's hard to imagine leaving Conner in someone else's care....thankfully, this will be temporary! (6-12 weeks) Tears are in my eyes right now as I type so that's all I'm gonna say about that. Please pray for me!!!

I only wish that our sweet dogs, Molly & Sadie could have participated. I thought about adding their pictures, but it would have been too tough to watch...8( We miss them TERRIBLY!! (They've been gone for over a year now, and it's still hard!) Conner LOVES dogs, so we know there will be another one in our family one day!;)
