Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny brought Conner some books, sidewalk chalk, and of course candy-filled eggs!!

POOH!! Unfortunately, due to the fact that I was on praise team Sunday, I couldn't see Conner's reaction to his goodies...nor did I even lay eyes on him until the end of the third service. :( Everyone kept telling me that Conner looked so cute, and his very own Momma couldn't see for herself. Anywho, we didn't even take a single picture of him dressed up or family pics like we usually do. For one, I was praise teamin' it with my black suit on... so NOT "Eastery", and when we got to Mammaw's, we changed into our play clothes.

I think..."hope" that we will be attending a wedding on April 25th, CONNER'S BIRTHDAY, so that we can get good family pics on the beach to make up for it!!! :) He will be wearing the same outfit!

We also had a "mini" egg hunt...no pressure for Conner cause he was the only one hunting them!! :) Ha!! It was still fun though.

If you look at the collage at the top right picture, I'm cracking up!! Why you ask? Well, Conner took it upon himself to find the Easter eggs, open them up, get the candy, and throw the empty eggs back down!! Silly, SMART boy!!!!!

We decided to watercolor/paint our eggs this year rather than getting out the dye. It was a big hit...in fact, I liked it much better than the traditional way. (We may just stick to it!! :)

The ZOO!!

Conner had a really good time at the zoo. He kept naming all the animals and what they sounded like. We even got to see a hungry tiger being fed. That was cool. However, by far, his favorite part of the whole trip was the fish/turtles/ducks, so we've got to get this child to an aquarium. He would be AMAZED!! His eyes lit up when the fish would swim our direction!! We'll probably take him somewhere this summer...maybe Memphis or New Orleans.

WORN out. Conner and I both went home to take a long nap! :)

As Conner went down for a nap at the house, he sang a song about monkeys!! :) Ha!! This morning, he woke up saying...Alligator! So, obviously the zoo made a lasting impression, and we will for sure go back again!

Big Boy Bed...sort of! ;)

Early Friday morning I heard Conner cry around 5:45AM. I wake up every morning around then, but Conner doesn't. Plus, with it being a school holiday, I just thought..."Let's see if he can work it out and go back to sleep." Well, his cry began to sound as if it were coming closer and closer. I reached over in David's direction and felt him, so I knew that he hadn't gotten Conner out of the bed. That made me scared to say the least!!! Thoughts RACED through my mind. Is someone in the house? Did Conner crawl out of his crib? Soon I heard Conner at the foot of the bed, and David then told me that he put him in the BIG bed that night. Huh?!

Let me explain, at night I've been pretty much...hmmm, how do I say/admit this? Yep, worthless!! I'm not kidding. David has totally been taking over at night while I crawl in the bed as early as 7:00PM. He takes care of bath/bed time. Well on Thursday night, he decided that (while Mommy was in her sleeping coma) he would try to put Conner in "what WILL be" his new room. Right now it's still the guest bedroom. Anyway, Conner slept all night until 5:45 in the morning, so that's good I guess. It's just I wasn't prepared to make the transition just yet. And get this people, this is not the first time Daddy David has moved on through a milestone without me. Nope. One night at choir, he decided to give Conner a BIG BOY bath without his ducky tub. I guess I need to count my blessings that I have a hands-on, confident hubby who doesn't mind going for it when it comes to changing the routine and stuff. :)

Anywho...though I'm still not quite ready to make the change, I told David that if we can get on the ball with changing the guest bedroom to Conner's room, I'm up for it!!! Ahhhhh....I'm thinking that will mean more "early" mornings, but that's okay with us. ;) It'll be good to get a jump start with Conner getting acquainted to sleeping in his new room before the baby comes.

Sooo...this will be his new place. We're planning to do a camo/hunting/outdoorsy theme!! ;)

We'll keep you posted...but thanks to Daddy, we're off to a great start!

Conner's Easter Party!

Conner had his Easter party/egg hunt at school on Thursday, and since we didn't have a party at school that day, I wanted to slip in and join him. Sadly...:( I missed the egg hunt. It started at 9:00AM, but I was able to catch the party and recess. His teacher said that he found lots of eggs and began sharing them with the others...now if that doesn't make a Momma proud, what does?! :) :) Anyway, he LOVED his party food, and it was neat seeing him in action at school.

There is ONE...I repeat ONE precious little girl in his class. All the rest are BOYS, and BOY do they have fun!! They spent the majority of time racing back and forth on the sidewalk. (Huh...reminds me of my second grade boys racing one another!) I have a few videos that I may share eventually...

pReSeNtS!!!! ;)

Mammaw and Pappaw sent Conner an Easter and early birthday present. We got it on Friday, and he was so happy to open his gifts. He kept saying..."Happy Birthday...Alex!" Huh?! I'm figuring that Alex from school must have just had a birthday, and he's remembering that he opened stuff. Who knows?! Ha!!

As you can see Conner LOVES all of it and wanted to hold everything at one time!! ;) Thank you so much for the clothes, candy, cards, hats, and $$ for Conner's piggy bank. We love y'all!!

Okay, so clearly Conner has taken up Momma's bad habit of saying, "Oh my gosh!!"....gotta try and change it to "goodness" or something. It's kinda cute for now!! :) Ms. Brandy from school said that Conner said it all day the other day...along with, "Wow!!!" as he purposely fell down. He cracks me up. He'll fall down and say, "Oh wow, I fall down!" All BOY I tell ya!

There's so many new fun phrases he says. I kind of dropped the ball when it came to documenting all of his words....think I stopped at like Dada, ball, and dog. Ha!! :) As you can see in videos, the boy is a chatter box and quite the little parrot who mocks everything you say and do....keeps you on your toes!! HA! ;)

One of my favorites was "fastcycle" for motorcycle...that lasted about a week, but it was so stinkin' cute! Now it's just the plain, ole' regular word. ;)
