Our Trip to Gulf Shores!:)
It rained on Friday night, so we watched the lightning over the ocean from our balcony. It was very pretty!!
We had such a good trip!!! At first I have to admit, it was extremely hard to leave Conner, but I eventually got over it and realized how much David & I needed the break. We saw LOTS of babies, and I kinda felt a little guilty. However, I just don't think this would have been the best year for Conner to join us. Next year will be much better...he'll be able to walk & play in the sand (rather than eat it) We've already got a trip in the works for next year!!!:)

Bloggin' Break!
Okay, I have a very unhealthy habit of getting on the stinkin' computer WAY TOO much when there's SO much more that needs to be done, so I've decided to take a couple of weeks off which means there won't be new posts for a while. 8( David and I are going to the beach this weekend for our anniversary, and I'm sure there will be much more to post....SOOO check back in a few weeks cause I'll be back!!:)
This holds me accountable if I announce to the world of blogging that I'm taking a break!

Special Moments Together with Family!

Conner and David's dad really bonded together during this trip. He LOVES his grandpa and wanted him to carry him around everywhere...especially outside. Mr. David would pick up him up, and Conner would point right to the door. (Side note: He points with two fingers...8)

DEVIN and Conner
When we went up to Virginia only 6 weeks ago, Conner didn't have much to do with Devin. Well, he made up for it during this visit...it was so sweet to see him interacting with precious, baby Devin. When you would ask, "Where's the baby?", Conner would point in his direction and say, baaa-baaa. (Who knows how you spell what he says for baby, but he definitely tries to say it.)

This was a special moment for me...I got to hold Conner and Devin so that they could have their picture taken together in their matching outfits. I was so proud to hold both boys in my arms. It touched my heart!! Though we're not quite ready for baby #2, I couldn't help to think about how wonderful it will be!

Mammaw has a frog that sings, and Conner loved playing with it!
Okay, I saved the best for last..."only KIDDING"!! I got another one!!! We went to Mammaw's on Saturday and got to fish. (I won't tell you that David fished in the same spot with the same pole for quite awhile and that I took the pole from him and caught one in a matter of minutes...oops, did I tell you that?!8)
We had a WONDERFUL visit with David's family. Devin is so precious and we look forward to seeing him grow up on his blog!!!
Date Night!
We were able to sneak away for our anniversary this past Friday night. David and I went to Bonefish, a movie, and then to Wal*Mart!8) Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Brandy watched Conner for us. It was nice to spend some "alone" time together!!

Fun Day...
We traveled to Union, MS to see some of David's family today. Congratulations, Melissa for graduating nursing school!!!!:) Also, our cousin, Jason, was home from Iraq for awhile and will be home for good in July!!:) It was so good to see you!!!!

They decided to go fishin', so we joined them. It was Conner's first experience. He pretty much just sat there staring the whole time...Mommy was in the zone and could have stayed out there all day!:) I LOVE to fish. David took me fishing on my birthday a few years ago, and he was planning to take me on a fishing trip in LA for our anniversary. However, I persuaded him to lean towards the beach...YAY!!:) We'll be going in a few weeks for a weekend getaway...Andrew & Sarah will keep Conner. (Little nervous about leaving him seeing that he's never spent a night away from us before, but I realize it's gonna eventually happen and he will be in GREAT hands!!:)

One of David's cousins was a little taken back when she found out how much I like to fish. She made a comment about me being a "city" girl...Well, I'm a "suburb" girl who loves the best of both worlds.

Our New House...
David extended our back patio, so we had the opportunity to leave our mark. David's, mine, and the mush to the right would be Conner's!:) We first tried his hand, but that didn't work...then we tried his foot which didn't work either. Our little man wasn't in the mood to cooperate. Oh well!

We're having some issues with the sippy cup. He's been completely turning his nose up at it. (juice, milk, water)Today I resorted to letting him taste my personal favorite!! Mountain Dew....:0 Don't worry and please don't say I'm a terrible mom. (to my face at least) His was a VERY watered-down version, but as you can see he didn't want to put it down. Tonight we'll try the milk again....let's cross our fingers!!:)

Four Wheelin'...and more!
While I was at choir practice Daddy took Conner on the four-wheeler for his first ride, so we took him again tonight. He loves it!!! He also gave him a bath in the BIG tub and said that Conner did great!!!:) I sure did miss some big "firsts" while I was gone. :( Oh well, I'm just blessed to have such a wonderful husband who jumps right in and goes for it!! Thanks Daddy!
We rode down to Andrew and Sarah's and then went around the block. It was fun...well, besides the fact that David said he's gonna leave me at home next time. I was the party pooper who kept telling him to slow down....and he never got over 9 m.p.h. I tend to get EXTRA nervous since my little tree encounter!:)
Our ONE year old!
We went for his one year check-up and everything looked great. He weighs 20 lbs (25th percentile) and he was in the 50th for his height. I'm so surprised about the 20lbs because he looks as though he's packed on the pounds since our last visit, and I KNOW he feels like it! Oh well, who knows?! We have yet to find a type of food that Conner doesn't like. Right now we're working on dropping the bottle. We're down to two bottles and are transitioning to the sippy cup...still. Finally, we found one that works best for now. I've always given Conner regular sips out of various cups and straws but was having a hard time finding him his own sippy cup that he could control. This is the one we like best...:)
New things happen every single day!! Here are some updates...
*He's still pulling up on everything but not walking yet...it's around the corner though!
* We have FOUR teeth. Two up top and two on the bottom.
*He loves to EAT!!
*As much as he loves his food, he LOVES to share! It's so sweet...he tries to share with people at restaurants and church...anybody.
*"ba" for ball, "dada" for daddy, plus a lot of adorable babble that we will understand later!:)
*He points to the light whenever you ask him where it is.
* When you ask, "What does a dog say?", he'll go "wooah" There's a dog next door, so when you ask, "Where's the dog?" he looks out the window.
*He LOVES to roll, throw, and find his ball. He will try to throw it behind stuff just to see if he can squeeze past furniture to get it.
* Our new favorite is the piano. He will pull up and tickle the ivory all by himself. (video to be posted later)
*We're working on the sippy cup
*BIG bathtub...though I haven't seen it, David said he did great!!!:)
*He waves bye-bye and hey
*He can spit his paci out on command
*When you say, TOUCHDOWN, he raises both of his hands in the air. (we're getting him ready for some State football) We also say, Praise the Lord, and he'll do the same thing!!
*He LOVES music and will get down to all kinds.
*He loves people, but he is getting a little more discerning about other personalities and has started some attachment issues when we drop him off at nursery. Once we leave, he's okay...so hopefully this will pass soon!
*He's a HEAD BANGER...in not so good of a way. If he's upset, he'll bang his head on the floor. The doctor said he hasn't hit it hard enough yet. I just ignore the behavior so that, HOPEFULLY, this too will pass soon! I pray that the Lord uses and channels his strong-willed temper in the right direction so that he can be a strong leader one day!
*When he hears a loud/different noise, he will look around and blow...it's HILARIOUS!!
*He loves the garage when it opens/closes
*He has LOTS of personality....LOTS!! He's our animated entertainer who can be Mr. Drama King as well!:)
*He gives sugar...the open mouth, slobbery kind...and we love it!!!
That's all I can think of, but I'll add to the list as things come to my mind. I, like Jenny, have not written in the baby book yet. When I do, I'll go back to old posts for dates and stuff. :)
