Our Lil' Pumpkin!
Last night we decided to paint my belly! Mostly due to the fact that for some reason, these last two weeks seem like they're gonna take forever, and my body feels like it could go into labor any second, so I feel as though time is of the essence. :) Hopefully, our lil' precious pumpkin can hang in there TWO more weeks...me too for that matter!!
Conner got a total kick out of it and kept saying, "Belly big, Mamma!!" Ha!
As for me, as much as I can't stand having to admit this, I'm STRUGGLING! Big time. My perfectionism has kicked in high gear yet my body can not keep up physically, emotionally, or even mentally. Plus, with Conner, "ignorance was bliss"....I had absolutely no clue what I was doing or exactly what was to come but was loving every minute of it. Also, I just "knew" that I was never going to work again outside of the home, so I began to close my chapter of teaching and embrace the whole stay-at-home-mom thing. This time around I know what's about to take place (somewhat) and I'm scared, stressed, nervous about having TWO kids and going BACK to work, drained, physically pooped, and just trying to do WAY too much to prepare for our big change that's about to take place. I've got to chill out for the sake of my health, Cayden's health, and the sanity of my two sweet, loving guys who have been putting up with me for these last few weeks. I feel as though time is caving in on me yet there's so much to be done. My mom encouraged me yesterday and basically told me to let go and realize that it's gonna be okay at this point if my classroom/house isn't in perfect order. I've been busting my tail, and now it's just time to make it through these last two weeks of school knowing that everything won't be perfect, but it will be perfectly fine. I mean, it's simply been hard for me to walk down the halls here lately. On top of it, my principal is also pregnant (due at the same time), and I'll catch her zooming around our school, just doing great...which makes me happy for her but sure is another blow to my pride. I feel like I'm maxed out and just barely hangin' in there. Oh, and it also doesn't help that everyone assumes that because obviously I'm not the size of a house that everything should be a piece of cake...so not true. Though I haven't gained that much weight, I'm just as much exhausted, physically hurting, and PREGNANT people!! :) Although, I ain't gonna lie, the cute belly comments do feel good. Ha!!
To make it through these last couple of weeks, I'm going to try and leave as early as I can each afternoon so that I can come home and put my feet up. David's really been helping me out by picking up Conner from school. This way I have a little down time before dinner/cleaning/Conner Man/etc. :) I'm also gonna use this time to spend more quiet time with the Lord knowing that whether my list of things to do has five items or five-hundred, I can not fully accomplish anything apart from HIM!! Everything is ultimately in His hands! Our health, finances, and day-to-day schedules and tasks are all under His control....that is, when I let go!
After all this venting and admitting my hardships, I'm SOOO very thankful and excited to meet our new little one in a matter of TWO weeks!! He has already brought so much joy and though this is going to seem weird, I feel like I know him more than I did Conner at this point by the way he moves about my belly. Ummm...which is A LOT! Ha!! At our last sonogram, he had his little hand up to his mouth, and we could see him breathing in and out. The ultrasound tech said that this meant his lungs had already fully developed!! :) His estimated weight is about 5lbs 6oz which is comforting.
For those of you who made it through this long, drawn out, poor-pitiful-me post, thanks! Ha! We'll keep you updated....but for now, I'm about to get ready to go get me some gowns for the hospital. I'm on a mission for some beautiful, comfy, motherly gowns that will make me feel all pretty & special as we welcome sweet Cayden into this world!!

Okay, So It's Been OVER a Month! Ooops.
White-Water Rafting with the Guys...
Baby Crenshaw Update...
I went for a check-up last Thursday, and it went well for the most part. (Aside from the fact that I'm not a huge fan of the doc who's "attempting" to take Dr. Nichol's place- I'm just glad to know she'll be at my c-section...I miss her terribly and hope that by the time Baby #3 comes around, she'll be delivering again. If not, I'll be requesting another doctor next time.) Anyway, I'll leave those details out.
First and foremost, the baby's heartbeat was perfect along with my blood pressure, and I measured up...without gaining a single pound! :) My total weight gain thus far is twelve pounds which already surpasses what I gained for the entirety of Conner's pregnancy, so I think this baby will be a bit bigger! I'm ready to see the little fella. As much as I've kindly brought up the possibility of a sonogram for the next visit, Dr. Kimmel is sticking to her guns with WEEK 37 being the next time we see him. That's almost another FOUR weeks away. At 38 weeks, he'll be in our arms. Oh well, I guess I'm over it and will have to wait. Only one more visit to go before I'm in there every week...man, this has gone by fast! We officially have FIVE more weeks from today until the c-section date! Down to one hand! ;)
As for the pregnancy, it's going well. The most difficult part is that my body has obviously been fighting illnesses off and on for the last three weeks...my immune system must be down. I'm finally getting over this sinus crud and have been able to catch up on some sleep over this wonderful llllooooonnnng weekend! :) Another challenge is the fact that I'm busting my booty at work trying to make sure "most" everything is in order before I take my leave. (curriculum/routine/etc.) It's amazing how many layers there are within a classroom...I'm still actually introducing new routines week-by-week. Over the next few weeks, I'll focus on centers so that the class can continue those while I'm gone. I've got the sweetest little group this year and have thoroughly been enjoying every minute of it...despite the fact that I've been battling extreme fatigue and illness. I've been trying my very best to make sure it's not affecting my ability to give it my ALL in the classroom. (Side note: Mrs. Schuerman pointed out the other day that she noticed all the things that we've been able to fit in thus far.) I'm tellin' ya...my seconds are precious, and we're using each one wisely. :)
I say all that to add that THREE days last week I had to ask David to pick up Conner after work so that I could go home and crash...I've shed a few tears over it, but physically, I'm pooped and know that my body is in desperate need of rest along the way. I've decided that in order to make it through these last five weeks at school, I need to be smart so that I CAN actually MAKE IT that long. I feel so much more pregnant than the mere 33 weeks that I am. With Conner, I never thought that I would go early, but it's been a thought that's entered my mind several times with this little one. We are just praying that October 12th is indeed the birth date and that these last few weeks are not only endurable, but ENJOYABLE!! :)
Potty Update...
We've entered the journey of potty training, and overall, it's been a success. We're not there yet, but Conner is showing more and more progress every day. (school and home) He'll have a few accidents here and there and is still in pull-ups at night. He's so funny and gets so excited when he tee-tees and poopees. ;) We've ditched the little potty and have resorted to Conner sitting backwards on the big potty in preparation for those "ever-so-lovely" public restroom trips that are inevitability in our future. It's working MUCH better!! He loves to flush the toilet and close the lid when he's finished. Then it's hand-washing and M&M time! Ha!
